For First United
Methodist Church in Crossville, TN. We designed,
fabricated and installed this 12 foot diameter window
for their new sanctuary. The window was manufactured
with 1 inch thick slabs of glass. The type of glass is
actually cast in an epoxy resin which makes windows that
are extremely durable. Because of the thickness of the
glass, intricate cuts cannot be done. The nature of this
glass lends itself to more contemporary designs. Be sure
to view the additional photos on our Installations Page.
During their construction phase, the church asked us to
repair other windows in their facility. This beautiful
Good Shepherd window is a traditional design, but it is
executed with a contemporary flair. Notice the painted
border is not a set color or pattern. Each piece of
glass varies in color. Each piece of glass has been
painted with a different design on it. Some pieces have
been artistically wiped off. The face has been painted
in a stylized manner which is almost Gothic. Notice that
the folds in Jesus’ robe are not just darker pieces of
the same color. They are actually different colors of
glass. Because of these details, this piece has a
contemporary flair. This is truly a beautiful piece. We
were pleased to have the honor to work on this panel.
