The windows
that we made for Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingston,
Tennessee were Faceted Glass or Dalle de Vere windows.
The glass dalles which are approximate 8 inches by 12
inches are 1 inch thick. The dalles are cut and laid on
a bed of sand. Then an epoxy resin is poured between
the dalles which results in windows that are brilliant
and extremely durable.
Faceted
glass windows can “withstand temperatures of +130
degrees Fahrenheit on the exterior surface and a
simultaneous of +70 degrees Fahrenheit interior surface
and allow for humidity changes of 6% to 100%. In
addition, cast panels must be water resistant on tests
of 25 lbs. per square foot static air pressure while 2 ½
gallons of water pass over the surface of the panel for
one hour.” SGAA Source Book 2005 |
